The 2011 Business Person of the Year award will be handed out at the Holiday Inn Select Brampton on May 10 beginning at 6:15 pm. Tickets are $85 each or $680 for a table of eight for Brampton Board of Trade members and $100 each or $800 for a table of eight for non-members.
The Brampton Horticultural Society’s annual plant sale will take place at the Brampton Curling Club on May 19th from 9am - 2pm. Admission is free and the proceeds of the plant sales go towards supporting the Horticultural Society.
The Kidzz 2 Kidz Supersale will take place at the Brampton Fairgrounds on April 21 from 10am - 3pm. Admission is $1 and proceeds go to support the Twin Plus Association of Brampton. The first 400 visitors will receive free goody bags.
The MS Society Walk will be held at the Jim Archdekin Recreational Centre on April 22 beginning at 7 am. Participants can choose to walk 4km, 7km or 10km.

The Small Business Enterprise Centre is presenting the workshop ‘Maximize your self-motivation and your ability to engage people’ on March 6 from 10 am-12 pm. The workshop is free and will be led by senior business students from Sheridan College.
The Small Business Enterprise Centre is holding a seminar entitled “Strengthen and Succeed: Powerful Marketing for Small Business.” The event will take place on March 1 from 2-4 pm; tickets are $20.
The Brampton Board of Trade is presenting the annual Mayor’s Luncheon on February 28 at the Pearson Convention Centre from 11:30 am-1:30 pm. Tickets are $65 for Board members and $85 for non-members. Members can purchase a table of eight for $520. Sponsorships are available for $2,000.
The next Brampton Board of Trade’s Morning Networking meeting will be hosted by the Centre for Education and Training on January 19 from 8-9:30 am. Tickets are free for the first 50 members who register, for the rest it is $20 for members, $30 for members who will be allowed to speak for one minute and $50 for potential Board members. In addition, the first 10 members who register and bring a friend will be allowed one minute to speak to the group.
The City of Brampton is holding a Toys for Tots and Food Drive on December 12. Citizens can drop off a new, unwrapped toy or non-perishable food items at any Brampton community centre, library or fire station. They can also bring them to City Hall.
